Beginnings

Beginnings. They can be exciting, scary, refreshing, uncomfortable, & delightful all at the same time. There is sadness at seeing old things pass away & happiness at seeing new things commence.
This post is a beginning for me. In one week I will embark on an adventure by moving to Cambridge, England for six months! I'm torn because I can't wait to explore the world, but there is an ache in my heart at leaving my dear friends for so long. But I'm excited about the rare opportunity I've been blessed with.

The reason for this adventure is that my dad will be on research leave writing a book. My parents and I will be staying at Tyndale House, which is a world class research library. We will travel the UK some, but most of the time we will just be living life in Cambridge. Since I'm homeschooled, I'll simply do my studies there. I like to say I'm studying abroad my senior year. =)

The reason I've started this blog is three-fold.

  • Firstly: I want to chronicle my adventures so that I can look back on them in years to come.
  • Secondly: I want to share my adventures with you!
  • Thirdly: I want a place to talk about my many random loves: crafts, books, British television, sugar, movies, photography, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

If there's one thing I've learned from books, it's that an adventure is only exciting if you have someone to share it with. So would you care to join me? I'd be thrilled!

  2. This is fantastic. I'm probably going to be checking for an update *at least* 237 times per day. :)
